Employment-Related Services (ERS)

Copa Health’s Employment-Related Services (ERS) empower individuals with disabilities to achieve greater independence through meaningful employment. Our comprehensive programs include career planning, pre-employment training, and hands-on job experiences in both community and Copa Health facilities. Employment Specialists, conveniently located in six valley clinics, provide support for competitive and supported employment opportunities tailored to individuals needs.

Key Features of ERS

  • Comprehensive Services: Career planning, job development and placement, computer training and real-world work experiences. Flexible Options: Services available in integrated employment settings or at Copa Health facilities (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-2:00 PM).
  • Collaborative Planning: Individuals and their ISP or Recovery Vision Teams determine the frequency and type of services.
  • Wide Referral Network: Accepts referrals from various agencies, including VR, DDD, Mercy Care, and private pay options.

Copa Academy

Enhance your job skills and marketability through Copa Academy's online training programs. Earn certificates in partnership with platforms like LearnKey and Brighton.

*Note: Coursework prepares you for certification exams, but state certification tests are not provided by Copa Academy.

The Learning Lab

A friendly and supportive environment for members eager to build their computer skills and explore new opportunities with technology.

ERS Highlights and Partnerships

  • Real-World Training: Members gain hands-on experience through partnerships with local businesses, including:
    • Wire assembly at Boeing’s Apache Helicopter plant.
    • Snack bar services at Mesa public libraries.
    • Janitorial and gum removal for Mesa Public Schools.
    • Concessions at sports events and concerts.
  • Peer Support Training Program: Offers 11 graduating classes annually, with optional First Aide. Graduates receive ongoing mentorship and access to supportive resources.
